Description

Image:

Pure pleasure: animalic and wild, sweet and sensual, forbidden yet desired, like a dark paradise.

Description of notes:

This fragrance is the wildest and most sensual you may ever experience. Unlike animalic scents that evoke the fur or skin of wild creatures, this perfume awakens passion, desire, and euphoria. It is incredibly hot, warm, and seductive, all thanks to the presence of genuine Indian Oud that imparts a luxurious, rich, and uniquely intense character.

The fragrance opens with fresh floral notes of rose and saffron combined with green, leathery hints of oud that feel wild and slightly cresolic. Within moments, it evolves into warm, woody facets of oud mingling with sweet, luminous, almost sacred undertones of frankincense. This triumphant ensemble is elegantly carried by velvety base notes of sandalwood and amber, while musk adds a lingering sensual warmth. Throughout the evening, these deep, resonant notes create a personal dark paradise that surrounds you with an aura of intense allure.

Specialty Perfume

Paradis Noir stands as a specialty fragrance, distinguished by its heart of authentic Meghalayan jungle-grown oud essential oil (Aquilaria agallocha) sourced from the pristine border region between India’s Meghalaya state and Bangladesh’s Sylhet city. This extraordinary material elevates the composition into the realm of true luxury perfumery, making each bottle a testament to the rarest natural aromatics.

Oud itself represents one of the most expensive and coveted raw materials in perfumery, often commanding prices that rival precious metals. However, this Meghalayan jungle oud transcends even conventional oud in both rarity and complexity. Unlike plantation-grown varieties, this jungle-grown material offers unparalleled richness derived from trees of vastly different ages and infection stages, creating a complex aromatic profile impossible to replicate in controlled cultivation. The natural diversity of the jungle environment—where trees compete for nutrients and sunlight while developing unique resin patterns through organic stress and natural wounding—produces an oud of extraordinary depth and character.

The rarity of this material extends beyond its wild origins. Jungle oud resources are inherently more limited than plantation alternatives, not merely due to their untamed nature, but because access to these pristine jungle areas is strictly licensed and regulated. The sustainable harvesting of such materials requires careful oversight to preserve these ancient ecosystems, making authentic jungle oud increasingly scarce and precious.

Consequently, Paradis Noir exists as a limited creation, available only while reserves of this exceptional Meghalayan jungle oud remain accessible. Each bottle captures the essence of India’s ancient forests — a fragrance that embodies both the wild luxury of untamed nature and the sophistication of master perfumery, making it a collector’s treasure for those who seek the extraordinary in olfactory art.

History of Creation:

One day, someone asked me how I would express pleasure through perfumery. It’s an extraordinary question, and precisely for that reason it was posed. Those who know me personally understand why. My work is always infused with melancholy, reflection, and depth. Simple, straightforward, and superficial fragrances don’t satisfy me—I need contrast, a way to shade even the brightest notes. After all, how can you truly appreciate their brilliance and beauty if they don’t shine against the darkest, heaviest, or even resinous base? Even when I create a fresh marine fragrance, my thoughts, passing through powdery and suede notes, plunge into the depths where seaweed sways and whales sing their songs in the dark.

The person who asked me this encouraged me to reflect on the theme of pleasure, which I did wholeheartedly. I imagined how the fragrance might seem to most people. Certainly, one could depict airy pink cotton candy, with notes of fried caramel, raspberry, and sweet red orange—so juicy and fruity that you wouldn’t immediately notice the dense, enveloping vanilla supported by milky lactones. It’s so thick that once you perceive it, there’s no turning back—it would radiate in a trailing sweetness all day long. Yes, perhaps that truly does sound like pleasure to many.

Yet, after visualizing this scene, one realizes how carefree a person must be to effortlessly enjoy such an extraordinary picture. Sometimes life leaves a deep imprint on the soul, making the simplest things feel unrealistic, ephemeral, illusory, and therefore artificial or false. If I were painting this picture, there would definitely be a space for nostalgia—nostalgia for a forbidden or long-lost happiness that we encountered only once.

Indeed, this vision would begin with fresh notes of juicy raspberry and the richly varied unfolding of natural rose, with its velvety floral and sweet honey nuances, behind which lie lovely green hints of rose petals or even its leaves. Yet even such a romantic story eventually passes, and the light honeyed rose notes give way to dry, woody tones coated in balsamic resins, thick sweet powdery leather, and the smoke of frankincense and incense. All that remains at the end is a warm, animalistic musk—easily recalling the excitement that once accompanied pure pleasure.
