Description
Image:
A gentle caress of summer darkness, where the ocean breeze carries the scent of blooming mysteries.
Description of notes:
This fragrance opens with a bouquet of fresh tropical and exotic flowers with nuances of ylang-ylang, jasmine, magnolia and lavender, through which breaks a fruity gourmand sweetness with nuances of raspberry, ginger, vanilla and tonka beans.
After half an hour, the sweet floral bouquet becomes calmer and gives way to the serene floral aroma of blue lotus with waxy and aquatic nuances. This gentle and peaceful aroma forms the heart of the perfume, whose velvetiness and depth is accentuated by the subtle aroma of fresh rose accompanied by green notes of magnolia. From this moment, the fragrance begins its gradual unfolding, immersing you in the depth of velvety woody and amber notes.
As time progresses, smoky, creosote-leather and woody notes of oud become increasingly noticeable, making the fragrance even deeper, denser and heavier. The fragrance finally assumes its evening presentation, revealing its sensual and tender notes of amber and musk.
Specialty Perfume
Night Veil is distinguished as a specialty fragrance, built around the rare and precious blue lotus absolute (Nymphaea caerulea) that forms its enchanting heart. This extraordinary component elevates the composition far beyond conventional perfumery, making each bottle a testament to the art of rare materials.
Blue lotus absolute represents one of perfumery’s most coveted and elusive ingredients. Its rarity stems from the intricate cultivation and extraction process required to capture the essence of these sacred water lilies. The flowers must be harvested at precise moments during their brief blooming cycle, when their waxy, crayon-like petals release their most concentrated aromatic compounds. The resulting absolute commands premium pricing — with wholesale costs exceeding 2000 Euros per 100 grams — reflecting both its scarcity and the labor-intensive methods required for its production.
This precious material frequently disappears from the fragrance market due to limited seasonal availability and the small number of specialized producers capable of creating high-quality blue lotus absolute. Weather conditions, harvest timing, and the delicate nature of the extraction process all contribute to inconsistent supply, making authentic blue lotus absolute a treasure that appears and vanishes unpredictably.
Consequently, Night Veil exists as a limited creation, available only while the reserves of this exceptional blue lotus absolute remain. Each bottle captures not merely a fragrance, but a moment in time when this rare botanical luxury was attainable — making Night Veil both a perfume and a collector’s piece for those who appreciate the extraordinary in olfactory art.
History of Creation:
The history of this perfume is not so much about perfumery as it is emotional. And, like my other works, it was not without a touch of melancholy. However, this is one of the most sensual, touching, tender and warm stories, just like the night to which it is dedicated.
This story begins on a warm summer night near the city of K on the southern coast of Crimea. A music festival was taking place in the city, and although the music on the main stage had long since ended, the city’s waterfront was still overflowing with people. In places, sounds of nighttime parties and noisy bars could be heard, disturbing the sleep of the city’s residents on this cloudless night.
We arrived in the city as a large group in a minibus. After the main festival program, the group scattered in different directions: some chatted at the bar counter, others went to the dance floor, and some went to sleep altogether. At that moment, none of this appealed to me. To briefly escape from the crowd and be alone with myself, I crossed over the pass of a rocky cliff jutting into the sea and found myself on a wild nighttime beach where there was no one. Waves quietly crashed against the shore and, rolling back into the sea, rustled the small sea pebbles. A moonlit path stretched from the horizon to the shore, sparkling brightly on the curves of the waves. A light breeze occasionally carried the muffled sounds of music from the waterfront around the cliff, while stars were generously scattered above the cliff, hidden from the light of the city streets. Sitting on the seashore, I enjoyed the warm sea breeze and the singing of crickets.
After a couple of minutes, from the direction of the pass, against the backdrop of the sky illuminated at the edges by the city lights, appeared the silhouette of a young man. For some time he examined the beach, then headed in my direction. “Probably one of my friends,” I thought. The guy approached me and sat down next to me. At that moment I realized I didn’t know him. “I was told you’re here all alone. Do you mind some company?” he said to me. I replied that I didn’t mind.
The stranger asked if this was my first time on this beach. Timidly and cautiously, I answered yes. He told me that he also loved this place, which wasn’t particularly crowded even during the day. He told me about the beauty of the local mountains and sea, about the history of this quiet bay, about the wonders and light effects that occur over the sea opposite the bay—the very place where we were now. I tried to be friendly and sociable, however, the stranger made me feel apprehensive. Due to anxiety and the fresh sea breeze, I began to shiver. “Are you cold?” the stranger suddenly said. He moved even closer to me, put one arm around me and pulled me close, which made me tremble even more at first. “You can put your head on my shoulder,” he said. It was quite a friendly gesture. I put my head on the guy’s shoulder, and he put his head on mine. I quickly felt calm and comfortable. We sat and looked at the rustling sea, at the moonlit path shimmering on the wave crests, at the stars scattered above the horizon, listened to the noise of the city and enjoyed this warm summer night.
“I have to go,” the stranger said after some time, “my friends will be looking for me.” “Yes, I’ll catch up in 5 minutes,” I replied. I wanted to enjoy the idyll of this night for a while longer, thinking about the rapana snails living at a depth of ten meters on the sea floor, about the cause of the light orbs that appear once a year over the sea, and about the randomness of events that occur in our lives.
I never saw that guy again, and none of my friends the next day could remember who they might have told about the wild beach.
